Porto, more than a destination
+ Porto is the most important economic, educational and cultural centre in northern Portugal. It has a historic centre classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also home to six universities, several institutes of higher education, 69 R&D centres and emerging business clusters.
+ Through its participation in the URBACT SmartImpact network since 2002, the city consolidated its strategic approach to support innovation and entrepreneurship.
+ Monocle magazine has published the second edition of its Small Cities Index, pointing to Porto the best city under 250,000 to live in.
Strategic meeting point
A privileged location between the ring roads of Porto will grant PORTÃO a regional dimension: with quick access from the rest of the cities of the Metropolitan Area of Porto (AMP).
With over 1.7 million people the AMP is the second-largest in
Portugal, with almost 20% of the total population of Portugal and one of the largest in Europe.
This urban conglomerate has become a European reference for the citizens of Portugal, the tourists, and digital nomads.
A hyperconnected community
PORTÃO is also connected to the city centre and accesed: by car, by public transport, and by Porto’s growing network of cycle lanes.
